The Punjab police will provide necessary assistance to the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams during raids against adulterers, unhygienic eateries and food-related businesses across Punjab. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Arif Nawaz has issued directions in this regard to Capital City Police Officer Lahore, all regional police officers, city police officers and districts police officers in Punjab. This notification has been issued in the wake of recent mishandling of PFA team in Ghala Market (grain market) Multan where mafia attacked the raiding party.
According to notification, the IG said that the PFA is taking steps to check the supply of substandard, adulterated and unhygienic food items. In this connection, the authority has constituted various teams.
