The Met Office on Thursday forecast cold and dry weather in the next 24 hours, as temperature fall continues to chill parts of the country. Over the past 24 hours, temperature dropped to minus four degrees Celsius in Kalat, minus two in Skardu, minus one in Quetta and Malamjabba, each, and zero in Kalam.
The country's most parts are likely to remain cold and dry with rain thunderstorm and light snowfall over hills in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi Divisions, Upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Fog is likely to continue in a few places in Southern and Central Punjab during morning hours. "A shallow westerly wave is still affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 2-3 days," the Met said.
Over the past 24 hours: A scattered rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills occurred in Rawalpindi and Zhob Divisions, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, FATA, Islamabad and Kashmir while isolated fall was recorded in Lahore Divisions. Bokra received 12mm of rainfall, Zhob 10mm, Islamabad (Golra, Zero Point) 9mm, Muzaffarabad 8mm, Balakot, Kakul, Saidu Sharif Shamsabad and Chaklala, each, 7mm, Saidpur sixmm, Dir, Malamjabba, Parachinar and Kasur, each, 5mm over the past.
