Dr Abdul Rehman Memon, Rector, New Ports Institute of Communication and Economics, Karachi and former Vice-Chancellor, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro called on Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat, Vice-Chancellor, University of Sindh, Jamshoro. The two counterparts discussed various issues of mutual interest.
Dr Memon extended compliments to Dr Burfat upon assuming charge as VC-SU, saying that University of Sindh was the oldest and most reputed higher education institution in Pakistan, which deserved a man of high learning and eminent academic vision like Dr Burfat to head it. Dr Burfat welcomed Dr Memon and registered to him his gratitude, adding that seasoned academician like Dr Memon would always be an asset to the nation.
"We would need your help, cooperation and guidance towards uplift of the Alma Mater", he told Dr Memon. Dr Burfat also briefed Dr Memon on the transformative reforms he had been able to implement at SU campus; to which Dr Memon said that the very fact that 21, 000 students appeared in the Pre-Entry Test for admission to Bachelor Degree Programs 2018 was in itself an evidence of public trust in University of Sindh. The meeting concluded on a note of reciprocal resolve to elevate University of Sindh and the New Ports Institute, Karachi.
