The trend of online shopping has gained momentum in the last few years and selling used original branded items such as clothes, shoes and bags etc. also available for online sale. The online used market is a new baby on the board. The webs are providing visual (photos and videos) stuff in details of the used items to help a customer choosing item of his choice.
As the average middle and lower middle class is getting more tech-friendly in Pakistan, it is no wonder that shoppers are now slowly shifting to online buying.
Such used articles are commonly called 'Lunda' items in routine life and many cities in the country have "Lunda Bazars" (flea markets) which are primarily visited by individuals from the lower income groups. Nonetheless sometimes well-off brand conscious individuals also sneak in such markets to get 'almost new' shoes and bags of their choice which they otherwise fail to find at leading stores.
The used goods' price may be a little higher than the traditional market, but the difference is usually absorbed by offers of free delivery. As the education level is also increasing, people are getting familiar with online shopping. Media also playing an important role in educating people especially girls regarding latest fashion trends.
The other reason for the popularity of e-shopping in Pakistan is that people find it quite beneficial and time saving. It saves a lot of time people don't need to waste their time by exploring the market. They can select the desired thing and buy it online while sitting in their drawing room. To gain confidence of their consumers, these virtual stores are giving an option of paying cash on delivery and too delivered at given address free of cost.
This feature allows customer to pay if they like the product. The gradual growth of this trend in Pakistan is leading towards the development of more websites and ideas of selling goods.
