The incidents of robberies, burglaries and snatching at gunpoint witnessed an alarming increase in the federal Capital during the last week despite enhanced security measures across the city due to protest sit-in by Tehreek Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, various police stations of the city registered 12 cases of theft including robbery, burglary and snatching, three cases of motor vehicle theft and one case of kidnapping during the last week.
During the period under review, Sihala police station registered two cases of robbery and one case of kidnapping. One Sufiyan Asif of DHA Phase-II filed a complaint with Sihala police station that unknown robbers broke into his house and looted cash and gold ornaments. One Shehzad Ahmed informed the same police station that two armed persons riding a bike snatched cash from his supervisor when he was on his way home.
One Shahzad of DHA Phase-II lodged a complaint with Sihala police that accused Rana Nasir has kidnapped his daughter. Margalla police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft during the last week. One Ali Asghar filed a complaint with Margalla police station that the accused Asif, Shaukat, Aamir and others stole gold jewellery, cash and other valuables form his house. Unknown auto-thieves stole a bike bearing registration umber RIK-3275 from the limits of the same police station.
During the last week, two cases of robberies were reported to Golra police station. Mazhar Hussain of Dhoke Kokria lodged a complaint with Golra police station that unknown robbers stormed into his house and looted cash and gold ornaments at gunpoint. One Israr Ahmad of Sadaat Colony informed Golra police station that unknown bandits forced their way into his house and looted jewellery, cash and other valuables.
