Richard Gasquet and Pierre-Hugues Herbert won Saturday's doubles rubber in four sets to put France 2-1 up against Belgium in the Davis Cup final. The French pair defeated Ruben Bemelmans and Joris de Loore 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (7/2), 6-4 to leave the hosts requiring just one point from Sunday's closing two singles.
The tie was all square going into the doubles after Belgium's top player David Goffin swept aside Lucas Pouille before Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beat Steve Darcis to level for France in Friday's singles.
