MULTAN: Ameer Jamat-e-Islami (JI), Senator Sirajul Haq Thursday said that his party wanted imposition of Islamic Sharia in the country.

Addressing the Namoos-e-Risalat (PBUH) conference held in connection with Rabiul Awwal here at Multan Arts Council, he said JI would support the government wholeheartedly in imposition of Sharia law.

He said that votes were taken on slogan of 'Roti, Kapra, Makan' (bread, clothes, house) in 1970 while the masses had same demand after 50 years.

He suggested that if the country would be run according to Islamic law then there would be no need of getting loans and masses would also be prosperous.

Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Punjab Dr Waseem Akhtar and Ameer Jamat-e-Islami district Multan Dr Safdar Hashmi also addressed the conference. Ulema council leader Dr Kazim Naqvi was also present on this occasion.
