The Karachi Port handled 221,804 tonnes of cargo comprising 151,938 tonnes of import cargo and 69,866 tonnes of export cargo including 4,360 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 151,938 tonnes comprised of 79,645 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,611 tonnes of general cargo; 67,732 tonnes of bulk cargo: 37,043 tonnes of coal; 7,800 tonnes of clinkers; 7,542 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 15,347 tonnes of fertilizer and 950 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 69,866 tonnes comprised of 67,566 tonnes of containerised cargo; 300 tonnes of general cargo and 2,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,360 containers comprising of 770 containers import and 3,590 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 257 of 20's and 179 of 40's loaded while 05 of 20's and 75 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,237 of 20's and 442 of 40's loaded containers while 113 of 20's and 678 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were eleven ships namely CMA CGM Narmada, Fowairet, Nagoya Tower, Prosper, MSC Kerry, Virgo, Snow Ploeg, Glovis Solomon, Selene Leader, Thunder Bird and Chang Hang Ze Hai carrying containers, oil tanker, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eleven vessels viz. Nagoya Tower, Prosper, MSC Kerry, Virgo, Los Angeles Trader, Newark, Bertina, Snow Ploeg, Clipper Target, Glovis Solomon and Selene Leader carrying containers, oil tankers, fertilizer and vehicle respectively currently at the berths. There were two ships namely Newark and Navios Vector carrying containers and DAP respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while another ship namely Maritime Longevity carrying coal is expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were seven vessels Athens Bridge, APL Hawaii, Sima Genesis, MT Shalamar, Everrich-1, Baltic Cove and Yasa Ilhan carrying containers, oil tankers, DAP and coal respectively due to arrive on Monday, while seven vessels viz. YM Cypress, Hyundai Faith, Ever Divine, Clemens Schulte, King Douglas, Al Mahboobah and Da Ji carrying containers, mogas, chemical and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 48,221 tonnes comprising 35,857 tonnes of import cargo and 12,364 tonnes of export cargo including 505 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 35,857 tonnes includes 4,750 tonnes of palm oil; 902 tonnes of LPG; 4,185 tonnes of sunflower seeds; 14,500 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 10,500 tonnes of coal and 1,520 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 12,364 tonnes includes 4,289 tonnes of rice and 8,075 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 505 containers comprising of 80 containers import and 425 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were two ships namely MT Ever Rich-6 and MT Chemroad Hope carrying LPG and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV Navios Verano, MV Marvel, MV Trade Will, MV Medi Chiba, MV Kasman, MT Ever Rich-6, MT White Purl and MT Chemroad Hope currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, coal, sunflower seeds, soyabean seeds, LPG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as seventeen ships namely CV MSC Albany, CV MSC Rachale, MV Daje, MV Sakzaya Miracle, MV Diyaa-B, MV African Arrow, MV YM Miranda, MT Maria-III, MT Al Jassasiya, MT Quetta, MT United Banner, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Alpine Penelope, MT Bahra, MT Glorious, MT Straum and MT Fortune Era carrying containers, project cargo, canola seeds, clinker, steel coil, chemical, LPG, LNG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six vessels viz. CV MSC Albany, CV MSC Rachale, CV Newark, MT Al Jassasiya, MT Glorious and MT Straum carrying containers, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Energy Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
There were five ships namely Prosper, CV MSC Al-Geciras, MV APL Miami, CV MSC Joanna and MT Bahra carrying containers and diesel oil respectively due to arrive on Monday.
