Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police South Division Karachi Azad Khan has said that the department is giving top priority to control law and order in industrial and commercial areas of the city as it provides livelihood not only to the city but also to entire country. "Efforts have been made to revamp response force. Madadgar 15 service is being modernized, technologically. In first phase, 100 mobile vans have been allocated for rapid response force. CCTV cameras will be installed on the motorcycles of the Madadgar force," he said, addressing members of Korangi Association of Trade &Industry (KATI).
He further said that modern technology is the most effective tool against criminal activities and Sindh police is now focusing on these lines. He said that on IGP directives, all recruitments were made on merit in Sindh Police and this will certainly improve its performance. He admitted that the police had remained weak in rapid response but now, he said, to overcome this issue, the response system is going through a transformation process and many positive and effective changes are underway.
KATI president Tariq Malik praised Sindh police for efforts to restore peace in Karachi. Head of KATI's standing committee on Law & Order Nadeem Khan suggested some measures to improve patrolling and traffic control. Zubair Chhaya said that performance of police in South division is extraordinary.
Masood Naqi said that young officers should follow the footsteps of seniors who devotedly performed their duty. Syed Farukh Mazhar, Ehtesham Uddin, SSP South Javed Akbar Riaz, vice president Junaid Naqi, and other officers of the South division attended the meeting.
