Dozen of office bearers of Awami National Party ((ANP) of union council Babani from district Mardan on Tuesday resigned in protest against the decision of parliamentary board of awarding ticket of national assembly NA-11-Mardan 3 to Gul Nawaz Khan.
Engineer Nazir Khan, President of union council Babani, has submitted an application for the ticket of NA-11. Sources added that the party allotted ticket to Gul Nawaz Khan. Sources added that Engineer Nazir Khan along with entire cabinet of union council Babani, entire cabinet of Sub Ward-1 and Sub Ward-2 Ajab Gul Killy and village council Charbanda has resign in protest, the party sources said.
They added that Engineer Nazir Khan in his resignation stated that he (Engineer Nazir Khan), Jamal Bacha and Anwar Khan have submitted applications for NA-11 ticket. He stated in his resignation that provincial president Ameer Haider Hoti on oath said that he will honour the opinion of the party organizations of the constituency and majority of the organizations of the constituency will select any one candidate, the party will allot him ticket and he will contest upcoming election on party ticket on NA-11.
The sources said that in 26 union councils of the constituency majority of the union council selected him for party ticket. He added that later on the party allotted ticket of NA-11 to Gul Nawaz Khan. He added that Gul Nawaz Khan hasn't submitted application for the NA-11 ticket. He added that despite of not submitting application party allotted him ticket which is injustice. He added that Haider Hoti violated his oath. The mentioned office bearers also shared their resignation on social media.
