Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that judiciary and other state institutions have separate attitude, laws and principles of justice for Sindh and Punjab. Khursheed Shah expressed these views while talking to the media in his chamber at the Parliament House on Wednesday.
"Neither have Nawaz Sharif and his family been arrested nor their names have been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) despite serious cases against them. While on the other hand, former Sindh information minister Sharjeel Memon is voluntarily presenting himself before the court but he is not getting justice," he alleged.
While referring to the accountability court cases against Nawaz Sharif and his family, Shah said that these cases are a test for the judiciary. "It is a test case for the Apex Court and now double standards would not be accepted," he added.
He said the PPP believes that the federal government through National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) are taking undue action against the PPP leaders. Shah also appreciated the release of Justice Najafi's inquiry report into the Model Town Killing incident. He said that PPP has put down the arrogance of those political parties which had claimed of holding big rallies.
Talking about the PPP rally at Parade Ground Islamabad, Shah said that half workers were present inside the venue and half were outside the ground. He said that caravans from other cities were unable to reach the spot due to traffic jams. He said that more than 50,000 people missed the rally, as they remained stuck at national highway. Shah further expressed hope that PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will do politics on the lines of his grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
