Mayor of London Sadiq Khan offered fateha and laid floral wreath at the grave of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, here on Friday. Talking to the media during his visit to the mausoleum of the founding father of Pakistani nation, he said, Jinnah had left behind a strong legacy of religious tolerance and discipline cherished by many and can be emulated by all. Answering a question, he said, London is open to all people who are keen to get education, visit for tourism or do business.
"All Londoners enjoy absolute religious freedom and there exist no discrimination on basis of caste, colour or religion," he asserted. The London mayor said relationship between his country and that of Pakistan are cordial and there exists room for further improvement.
"I also take pride in my Pakistani roots," he said to a question and referred to certain problems faced by people of London in particular context of residential facilities. To another query, he said terrorism is a global challenge and London too is trying to thwart it, efficiently.
