People from different walks of life staged protest demonstrations and rallies in four districts of Faisalabad Division to condemn US President Donald Trump's announcement of recognising occupied Jerusalem as Israel's capital and shifting the US embassy also there. Members of Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), Defence of Pakistan Council (DPC), Jamatud Dawa and members of Anjuman-e-Tajran observed strong protest on Friday.
A big demonstration was arranged by the PUC at Gole Masjid Ghulam Muhammadabad Colony and speakers rejected the Trump's move for recognising occupied Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Addressing demonstration after Jumma prayers, chairman Pakistan Ulema Council, Sahibzada Zahid Mehmood Qasmi, Moulana Shabir Ahmad Usmani, Hafiz Muhammad Amjad, Qari Asmat Ullah, Moulana Azam Farooq, and Abid Farooqi called for unity of Muslim world to foil US plan to strengthen Zionist hold on the Muslim holy places.
They said it is the time for Muslim Ummah to be on one page to foil US anti-Islam challenge and to avert another world war. He said Trump wants to kick up a world war to enable Washington save its fast diminishing image. They announced that the whole matter should be presented before International Court of Justice and called upon Ulema and Khatibs to highlight the importance of Baitul Maqdas.
Demonstrators had carried placards containing text "Bait ul Muqaddas - waiting for another Salah ud Din Ayyubi, Alliance of Jews & Christians - Threat for world's peace, three big devils of the world - America, Israel and India" and other slogans. Flags of America and Israel were also burned at the end of protest.
