Chairman Qaumi Watan Party Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has rejected the call for snap-polls, saying that the PTI untimely demand is illogical. He was addressing a public meeting at after an inauguration of the Sui Gas project at Kot Tarnab district Charsadda. Earlier Sherpao inaugurated the supply line of Sui Gas project in the area. The project would benefit the local Population at large.
He said that in case of mid-term election KPK would be deprived of additional 3 seats in National Assembly as the amendment for this purpose would not be possible. Therefore, those favoring, he continued, early election wanted to shrink the representation of KP in National assembly. He added that the campaign for snap-polls exposed such elements that were hell-bent to snatch 3 seats from KP, one each from Balochistan and Islamabad.
QWP chief termed the nomination of five - member parliamentary committee as a good omen which would oversee the proposed amendment in the Constitution about the enhancement of five seats in National assembly. However, he said that the matter should not be further delayed. He said that all the stake holders should honor the apex court's recent verdict. He said that nobody should be jubilant over the disqualification of a politician. He asked that all political parties should work for the betterment of the country.
He said that good ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan are of vital in the regional peace and stability. He contended that concerted efforts were required to end the turmoil in the region. "QWP would not sit by idle and would continue to raise its voice for the welfare of Pakhtun rights, he added". He said that QWP always fulfilled its election promises. He said that the party has been working for the welfare of the masses and it would leave no stone unturned in this regard.
Aftab Sherpao said that democracy is vital for the national development and prosperity. He called for bringing about purity and betterment in the democratic system to address the problem of the miserable masses through vote bank. He said that that QWP wished the incumbent assemblies completed its constitutional tenure that the upcoming elections held on the schedule time, as it was not in the favor snap and delayed elections.
QWP chairman expressed his deepest empathies with families of the APS massacre martyrs. He said that it is a matter of great concern that the reservations of the bereaved families had not been vindicated and still a judicial enquiry had not been conducted in this regard in spite many calls. He demanded for the judicial enquiry into the APS attack to figure out the fact and figures addressed the concerns raised by the affected families. He said that the martyrs of Army Public School have rendered immense sacrifices for a great cause which would have no parallel in the annals of the world. While glowing tributes to the APS martyrs on the approach third death anniversary, he said that their sacrifices had vindicated the reality that even the worst oppression could not defeat a nation.
The party chief said that before the Imran Khan himself on every flat forum had criticized the federal government for the Metro Bus by calling it a costly Jangla bus project and the wastage of the public money but now he himself had launched the same project on a bigger cost with untimely and unwise steps.
