Cash spot basis bids for hard red winter (HRW) wheat on Friday in the southern US Plains were unchanged, a day after increased demand slightly raised some protein premiums, merchants said. A few flour millers in parts of the Plains might need grain as supplies tighten in advance of the Christmas and New Year's holidays, a grain merchant said.
Protein premiums on Friday for wheat delivered by railcar to or through Kansas City were generally steady, but up 3 cents per bushel for 12.00 percent to 12.40 percent wheat.
