Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Arif Nawaz Khan said on Tuesday that service rules for timely promotion of traffic wardens have been made through which the procedure for promotion of wardens on the basis of seniority and other concerned factors have been started.
"We are also taking steps to balance the differences of monthly pay of traffic wardens and personnel of other departments and a summary for restoration of risk allowance has also been forwarded to the provincial government for their final nod," the IGP said. He said the traffic wardens should bring positive changes in their behavior to win hearts of public after playing role of front line soldiers with their professional skills.
"Through this, they may find out the solution of major issues related to the traffic management." He expressed these views while addressing the Police Darbar of traffic wardens of different districts at the Police Lines here on Tuesday. CCPO Lahore Muhammad Amin Wains, CTO Lahore Rai Ejaz, SP Head Quarters Atif Nazeer and other senior police officers also attended the Darbar.
On this occasion, the IGP assured to solve all problems being faced by the wardens. "For encouragement of traffic wardens, a prize distribution system will be started on monthly basis for the efficient personnel deployed in various categories of duties," the IGP said.
