Basel Framework: regulatory retail portfolio limit enhanced to Rs 125 million

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced enhancement in the regulatory retail portfolio limit under Basel Framework. According to BPRD Circular No. 08 of 2017, the existing regulatory retail portfolio limit, as applicable under Basel Capital Framework, has been prescribed at Rs 75 million. However, now the limit is being enhanced to Rs 125 million with immediate effect.
The subject revision of retail portfolio limit is expected to support the growth of credit to the retail sector and small & medium enterprises. All other instructions will remain unchanged, the central bank added.
