Growing lawlessness is increasing sense of insecurity among residents of the heavily-guarded federal capital, as 14 cases of motor vehicle thefts and over 11 cases of other crimes were reported to various police stations of the city during the last week.
Moreover, the armed robbers looted various houses and snatched cash from different people at gunpoint in broad daylight, negating hollow claims of the police regarding controlling crime. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, four cases of kidnapping and one case of murder were reported to various police stations of the city during the last week. Industrial Area, Shalimar and Aabpara police stations topped in registering the crime as compared to other police stations.
Industrial Area police station registered two cases of auto theft and one case each of robbery and murder during the aforementioned period. The motor vehicle thieves stole a car bearing registration number LRZ-6554 of Khalid Zaman as well as lifted a bike (JP-515) of Waseen Raza from the limits of Industrial Area police station.
One victim Abid Ullah filed a complaint with Industrial Area police station that two unknown armed persons stanched cash and two cell phones from him when he was on his way home.
In another incident, Irfan Hussain lodged a complaint with the same police station that the accused Waheed shot his brother Tariq Mehmood Shah dead. During the last week, Aabpara police station registered two cases of carjacking and one case of robbery. The auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number OB-9123 of one Ameer Ali parked at Sunday Bazaar and lifted a bike (AA-7904) of Imran.
In another incident, unidentified robbers broke into the house of Azad and looted gold ornaments, cash and other valuables from his house. During the period, Shalimar police station registered two cases of robbery and one case of kidnapping. Babar Hussain filed a complaint with Shalimar police station that unknown robbers stole cash, garments and other valuables from his shop.
Another victim Zeshan Ayub informed Shalimar police station that accused Arshad and his wife, who are his servants, looted gold ornaments, cash, watch, mobile phones and other valuables from his house. In another incident, one Rani Bibi informed Shalimar police station that accused Rehmat Ullah and Mushtaq had kidnapped his daughter Samina. Similarly, Lohi Bher, Ramna and Noon police stations registered one case each of auto theft and robbery. Bhara Kahu and Khanna police stations registered one case each of auto theft and kidnapping.
