Business Recorder op-ed writer Farhat Ali appears to be highly perceptive about how our policymakers deal with short and long-term economic challenges. Cashing in on the opportunity that Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs Miftah Ismail has thrown up after his appointment, the writer has presented a highly objective account of country's economy.
Commenting on the invitation that Mr Miftah has extended to business commuto solicit its suggestions with a view to improving policy formulations, the writer has plausibly argued that "If his [Miftah's] assertion is taken on face value, all of this can be perceived as a good start to get to know the team and gain their confidence. The real test is on ground for a leader to prove his or her metal". The writer however must not lose sight of the fact that Mr Miftah is known for working harder; he has the ability to always see a bigger picture. I therefore wish him more successes.
