Pakistan Monday lodged a strong protest with the United States by summoning its ambassador to the Foreign Office over President Trump's latest tirade against the country. Diplomatic sources said US Ambassador David Hale was summoned to the Foreign Office by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua for explanation over President Trump statement.
They said the Foreign Secretary conveyed the sentiments of the people and the government of Pakistan over President Trump's accusations. According to the sources, Janjua also lodged Pakistan's strong protest with Ambassador Hale over President Trump's remarks. When contacted, US Embassy spokesperson Richard Snelsire confirmed to Business Recorder, saying "he [Ambassador Hale] was asked to come to the Foreign Office tonight...he did and met with officials there."
The sources added that the Foreign Office will also issue a response to US President Trump's remarks which he made through a tweet in which he downgraded Pakistan's contribution and sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
