Acting Ameer of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that in the present situation in the country, it was not possible for any party to impose any deal or a NRO. Talking to different delegations at Mansoora, he said that any foreign pressure for a secret deal with the PML(N) and state institutions would defame politics, democratic system and weaken the state. He however said that the democratic system, the supremacy of the judiciary and the accountability process would be fully protected.
Liaqat Baloch strongly criticized the sharp raise in the POL prices and termed it a drone attack on the masses. He said this raise would bring bad name to the government of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, and create problems for all sections of the society. He counseled the government to curtail its spending and provide some relief to the masses. He said the tall claims of Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar of economic progress had proved to be hollow as the economic policy of the country was based on debt and foreign aid which was a curse. The JI acting chief said that the year 2017 had been heavy for the Muslim Ummah, the South Asia and Pakistan as Islam remained the target of the enemies under the cover of terrorism.
He said that if the New Year proved to be the year of peace and supremacy of Islam, the mankind would be a great beneficiary.
