Temperature fall begins to plunge more parts of upcountry and northern mountainous region into minus degrees Celsius. Winter frost strikes Astore with minus 9 degrees Celsius, Quetta, Skardu and Gupis minus 8 each, Gilgit, Kalat and Hunza minus 7 each, Kalam and Bagrote minus 6 each, Ziarat and Dir minus 5 each, Mirkhani, Lower Dir and Rawalakot minus 2 each, Parachinar, Bunji, Drosh and Kamra minus 1 each.
With a cold and dry weather in the most parts of the country, dense fog is likely to engulf plains of Punjab and Upper Sindh in the next 24 hours, the Met Office said, adding that "continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country".
