Promising little masters Muhammad Ammad and Hamza of Pakistan cruised to the quarter-finals after recording victories against their respective rivals in the pre-quarter-finals of the ongoing British Junior Squash Championship being played at Birmingham, United Kingdom Friday. Both Muhammad Ammad and Hamza of Pakistan are hailing from Pakistan Air Force Academy Peshawar, sailed easily in the Under-13 quarter-finals. The two little masters played well and did not give much chance to their respective rivals to strike back.
In the third round Mohammad Ammad, hailing from the Champions City Peshawar, defeated Jack O Flynn from Ireland by 11-5, 11-8 and 11-3 in a one-sided affair. Mohammad Ammad, a promising hard hitter earlier made a big upset when he defeated Tthan Benstock from USA, did not look behind and beat Jeck O Flynn quite easily. Mohammad Hamza Khan, who earlier defeated Thomas Greengrass from England by 11-3, 11-3 and 11-5, exhibited his talent and recorded victory against Arnav Tevatia from India by 11-3, 11-2 and 11-8. Now Mohammad Ammad will play against Islam Kouratam from Egypt whereas Mohammad Hamza Khan would play against Omar Azzam, also from Egypt.
In Under-15 category, Mohammad Ashab Irfan of Pakistan lost to Franklyn Smith from England in third round at 11-3, 6-11, 11-9, 9-11 and 9-11 whereas Asad Ullah Khan defeated Leo Fatialofa from New Zealand by 11-4, 10-12, 11-7 and 11-9 a thrilling four sets battle. However in fourth round Asad Ullah Khan also lost to Ahmed Marzouk from Egypt by 5-11, 8-11 and 9-11. In Under-17 category, Mohammad Farhan Hashmi lost to Duncan Yung Yij Lee from Malaysia in 3rd round by 7-11, 6-11 and 9-11. Duncan Yung Yij Lee played well and did not give chance to Mohammad Farhan Hashmi to come back into the game.
In Under-19 category, Abdul Malik of Pakistan lost to Tom Walsh from England in 3rd round. The score was 11-8, 2-11, 5-11 and 4-11 and Muhammad Uzair Rasheed lost to Shady Elsherbeeny from Egypt by 6-11, 5-11 and 7-11. This was Mansoor Zaman, who defeated Vojtech Ryba from Czech Republic by 11-9, 11-7 and 11-9 but lost to Tom Walsh from England by 7-11, 7-11 and 10-12 in the fourth round.
