One-day lecture programme on "Causes of Religious Extremism in Pakistan: Role of State and Its Solutions" jointly organized by Global Intellectual Forum Sindh and the University of Sindh Campus Thatta. Professor Dr Mukhtiar Ahmed Mahar, Director Centre for Coastal and Deltaic Studies chaired the event on the behalf of Professor Dr Sarfraz Hussain Solangi, Pro-Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Campus Thatta.
He welcomed all the guests and presented brief introduction of the campus. He shared the objectives and scope of the education and research being disseminated by the University of Sindh campuses at door steps especially to poor students who cannot afford the higher education. The keynote speaker Jami Chandio gave its thorough background and discussed the ongoing religious extremism and its practices in Muslim world.
Referring to the solution to religious extremism he said that religion should be separated from state and that the acceptance of progressive consciousness and true scientific education can help eradicate the menace of religious extremism in Pakistan and the world. Advocate Amjad Palejo, Advocate Sarwar, Zeeshan Asghar Palijo, Professor Aijaz Ali Jakhro, Professor Aijaz Ali Palejo, Salman Jakhro, Dr Maaro Khushk, Dr Muneer Jafrani, Dr Aakash Abbasi and Syeda Fiza Shah, Campus Coordinator also spoke.
