The Lahore High Court on Monday restrained District Scrutiny Committee (DSC) constituted by Pakistan Cricket Board from carrying out scrutiny of the district level cricket teams, and issued notices to the board. The petitioner Kashif Javed challenging scrutiny committee submitted that district clubs' scrutiny is held after conducting the elections of the district associations. Scrutiny is conducted every six years and there is defined way for it, he said. But the cricket board has started the trend of liking and disliking in the local district associations, the petitioner pointed out, saying that the scrutiny committee constituted to conduct scrutiny of the players is also comprising favourite members of the board.
The petitioner stated that the district level crickets had been conditioned with two-tournaments a year for their selection and scrutiny under the conditions. He asked the court that scrutiny committee be barred from carrying out scrutiny process and its decisions be declared illegal.
