Temperature plunged to minus 13 degrees Celsius in Skardu, as the Met Office on Monday forecast a light snowfall for northern areas in the next 24 hours. Frosting weather also pulled down temperature in Astore to minus 11, Gupis minus 9, Gilgit minus 8, Kalam, Hunza and Bagrot minus 7, each, Kalat minus 6, Dir and Ziarat minus 5, each, Quetta and Rawalakot minus 4, each, Parachinar, Mirkhani and Drosh minus 3, each, Malam Jabba, Kakul, Bunji and Risalpur minus 2, each, and Murree minus 1.
Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country with light rain-thunderstorm and snowfall over the mountains in Malakand, Makran Divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Upper FATA. Fog will continue in a few plain areas of Punjab and Upper Sindh during morning hours on Tuesday.
