The Karachi Port handled 173,565 tonnes of cargo comprising 129,947 tonnes of import cargo and 43,618 tonnes of export cargo including 6,711 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 129,947 tonnes comprised of 42,492 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,208 tonnes of general cargo; 25,747 tonnes of bulk cargo: 25,670 tonnes of coal, 77 tonnes of DAP and 50,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 43,618 tonnes comprised of 40,058 tonnes of containerised cargo; 60 tonnes of general cargo and 3,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,711 containers comprising of 3,088 containers import and 3,623 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,026 of 20's and 974 of 40's loaded while 12 of 20's and 51 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,126 of 20's and 401 of 40's loaded containers while 437 of 20's and 629 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Crete-1, X-Press Makalu, Northern Jevelin, Zante, Osprey-1, Grand Choice and Cronus Leader carrying containers, coke and vehicle respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. Northern Jevelin, Piraeus, OOCL America, Amazon Guardian, Ras Ghumays-1, Coronus Leader, LEO and Du Juan Song carrying containers, oil tanker, rock phosphate, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were three ships namely Athens Bridge, Phoenix and Tiger Beijing carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while three ships namely Piraeus, JO Pinari and Amazon Guardian carrying containers and oil tankers respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday. There was one vessel viz. Hyundai Global carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday, while three vessels viz. MSC Kerry, Ever Divine and Maritime Longevity carrying containers and coal respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 161,875 tonnes comprising 101,600 tonnes of import cargo and 60,275 tonnes of export cargo including 3,708 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 101,600 tonnes includes 42,000 tonnes of LNG; 2,500 tonnes of LPG; 17,400 tonnes of palm oil; 1,491 tonnes of general cargo and 38,209 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 60,275 tonnes includes 6,561 tonnes of rice; 21,471 tonnes of crude oil and 32,243 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,708 containers comprising of 2,011 containers import and 1,697 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There were two ships namely CV MSC Mars and MV Kong Qeu Song carrying containers and project cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely CV MSC Sindy and X-Press Makalu carrying containers are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV MSC Sindy, X-Press Makalu, CV MSC Mars, MV Era-S, MV Kong Qeu Song, MV Agios Nicolas, MV Everrich-6, MT White Purl, MT Norstar Invictus, MT Golar Bear and MT Gao Cheng-2 were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, general cargo, soyabean, LNG, LPG, crude oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eight ships namely MV Da Kang, MV Industrial Century, MV Pacific Action, MV Engiadina, MT Gas Amazon, MT Maria-III, MT BW Danube and MT Chemroad Nova carrying project cargo, steel coil, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV CSAV Tyndall, CV Maersk Columbus, MV Industrial Century, MT Gas Amazon and MT Methane Nile Eagle carrying containers, project cargo, LPG and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Energy Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were eight ships namely CV Mataquito, CV CSAV Tyndall, CV Maersk Columbus, MV Engiadina, MV Great-61, MT Methane Nile Eagle, MT Ondo and MT Bahra carrying containers, steel coil, steel, LNG and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
