Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures were up nearly 1 percent on Tuesday, supported by short-covering and expectations the US government will show smaller planted acres, traders said. The US Department of Agriculture was expected to show decreased 2018 US planted winter wheat acres, according to a Reuters poll of analysts.
Front-month CBOT March wheat climbed for the first time in four sessions, recovering from an earlier one-week low. K.C. winter wheat and MGEX spring wheat also were higher. Egypt purchased 115,000 tonnes of Russian wheat in a tender.
