On Wednesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,318. The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 6.342 billion and the number of lots traded was 9,489. Major business was contributed by gold PKR 2.516 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 1.533 billion, WTI crude oil PKR 937.404 million, silver PKR 654.789 million, platinum PKR 295.865 million, DJ PKR 139.852 million, NSDQ 100 PKR 121.387 million, SP500 PKR 72.756 million, natural gas PKR 49.716 million, copper PKR 20.469 million and Brent crude oil PKR 0.684 million. In agricultural commodities 9 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 3.941 million and 35,200 lots of red chili amounting to PKR 6.230 million were traded.
