Provincial Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that dexterous utilization of information and communication technologies in school education by the Punjab government has helped to achieve the targets of educational reforms program and due to it students have got access to the world-class education. As a result, educated and self-confident youth leadership has been developed which has benefited the whole country.
He said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Khadim-e-Punjab Next Generation Schools Initiative Program at Government APS Girls High School Model Town, here Monday.
Under this program, latest IT lab, science lab, health lab, art room and early childhood education rooms along with food lab have been established to provide best congenial atmosphere to the students. He said that latest facilities will help to improve the intellectual ken of the budding minds and added that modern labs have been introduced in 300 schools in the first phase. He hoped that this program will ensure quality education and the capabilities of the teachers will also be enhanced. Talking about the financial resources of the department, he said that 345 billion rupees have been allocated for the educational budget and informed that 90 thousand students of the brick kiln workers are also being provided free educational facilities by the government. Punjab is the only province where education is being imparted through smart boards and multi-pronged strategy has been introduced to provide missing facilities in public sector schools so that students could study in a conducive atmosphere, concluded the Minister. Secretary Schools Dr. Allah Bakhsh Malik said that eight thousand IT labs and 11 thousand early childhood educational rooms have been set up in schools situated in different districts of the province. Similarly, technical and vocational education is being imparted in 1109 schools and Danish schools are providing free education to the needy students.
After the inauguration, the Minister inspected different sections and expressed the satisfaction over the quality of facilities provided here. Different speakers also spoke on the occasion. Chief Secretary Capt. Zahid Saeed (retd), Dr. Amjad Saqib, Kamran Lashari, Dr. Umer Saif and others were also present on the occasion.
