The Karachi Port handled 227,864 tonnes of cargo comprising 179,638 tonnes of import cargo and 48,226 tonnes of export cargo including 10,281 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 179,638 tonnes comprised of 66,946 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,518 tonnes of general cargo; 42,674 tonnes of bulk cargo: 36,219 tonnes of coal, 6,455 tonnes of DAP and 67,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 48,226 tonnes comprised of 42,460 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,866 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 10,281 containers comprising of 5,165 containers import and 5,116 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,611 of 20's and 1,618 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and 158 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,006 of 20's and 414 of 40's loaded containers while 744 of 20's and 1,269 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were five ships namely X-Press Kailash, Mohar, Maritime Longevity, Karina Danica and Da Kang carrying containers, cement, coal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. Kota Lagu, Hyundai Faith, Sima Genesis, Chemroad Fuji and Selene Leader carrying containers oil tanker and vehicle respectively currently at the berths. There were five ships namely Kota Lagu, Los Angeles Trader, Spottail, Selene Leader and Mandarin Ocean carrying containers, mogas, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while another ship namely MT Lahore carrying oil tanker is expected to sail on Wednesday.
There were five vessels viz. YM Cypress, Ningbo Express, Clemens Schulte, Hansa Offenburg and Hafnia Asia carrying containers and mogas respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while five vessels viz. Wieland, Kota Layar, MOL Emerald, Pacific Talent and Bhagavathy carrying containers, coal and bitumen respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 133,795 tonnes comprising 109,646 tonnes of import cargo and 24,149 tonnes of export cargo including 4,085 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 109,646 tonnes includes 1,470 tonnes of LPG; 36,036 tonnes of coal; 1,254 tonnes of project cargo; 8,104 tonnes of chemical; 9,316 tonnes of soyabean and 53,466 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 24,149 tonnes includes 24,149 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,085 containers comprising of 2,814 containers import and 1,271 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There was one ship namely MV Chemroad Rose carrying chemical sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while four more ships namely CV MSC Alessia, CV MSC Candice, CV X-Press Kailash and MV Mandarin China carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV MSC Alessia, CV MSC Candice, CV X-Press Kailash, MV Berlin Trader, MV Pacific Action, MV Chemroad Rose, MV Mandarin China, MV Agios Nicolas and MT White Purl were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, chemical, coal, soyabean and LpG respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as nine ships namely MV Morningstar, MV Bulk Electra, MV Isabe Oldendroff, MV Imme Oldendroff, MT Maria-III, MT Gas Husky, MT Epic Sardinia, MT Rising Sun and MT Snow Ploeg carrying rice, soyabean, coal, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Tomoko, Isabe Oldendroff, MT Epic Sardinia, MV Greeco Libero and MT Snow Ploeg carrying containers, coal, LPG and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, SSGC LPG Terminal and Liquid Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There were eleven ships namely CV CMA CGM Narval, CV San Felix, CV MSC Tomoko, CV Maersk Kinloss, MV BBC Maine, MV Clipper Helen, MV Forest Park, MV Great-61, MT Arwa Spirit, MT Maran Gas Spartra and MT Pacific A Dorodchi carrying containers, general cargo, chemical, steel, LNG and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Tuesday. There is one ship namely MV Tamar carrying general cargo due to arrive on Wednesday.
