Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood called on the Secretary General of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Amjad Hussain B. Sial, during the latter's visit to India. During the meeting, matters related to the SAARC process and promotion of its goals and objectives were discussed, says a press release.
High Commissioner Sohail Mahmood reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to keep working to strengthen SAARC as an effective instrument of regional cooperation in South Asia.
Secretary General Amjad Sial was in India to attend the inaugural session of the International Conference of Women Entrepreneurs on "Innovation, Incubation and Industrialization", being held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, from 17-19 January 2018. Established in 1985, SAARC is among the primary organizations for regional cooperation in Asia. Pakistan is among the founding members of SAARC, which also includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives and Sri Lanka.-PR
