ANF seizes 673 kg of narcotics, arrests 30 traffickers

Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan seized 673 Kg narcotics valuing Rs 658.66 Million internationally, arrested 30 persons including 2 women involved in drug smuggling and impounded 8 vehicles while conducting 22 counter-narcotics strikes across the country.
According to Joint Director ANF, the seized drugs included 661.3 Kg Hashish, 1.175 Kg Heroin, 4.100 Kg Amphetamine, 3 Kg Cannabis and 3.67 Kg Methamphetamine.
ANF Lahore conducted seven operations in its region which includes central and south Punjab and recovered 20.7 Kg hashish and 3 Kg cannabis. In another operation, ANF Lahore arrested two persons residents of Gujrat travelling to Jeddah at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 1.7 Kg Methamphetamine tactfully concealed in their bags.
ANF Rawalpindi carried out six operations in areas of its jurisdiction including Rawalpindi division and Gilgit and recovered more than 26 Kg hashish and nabbed the local peddlers.
It arrested a resident of Swabi from Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 1.6 Kg Amphetamine from his trolley bag. He was to take off for Saudi Arabia. ANF in collaboration with ASF arrested another resident of Swat going abroad at the Airport and recovered 1.1 Kg Amphetamine.
ANF Karachi arrested an accused resident of Mandi Bahauddin at Jinnah International Airport and recovered 1.97 Kg Methamphetamine which was concealed in his trolley bag. He was travelling to Saudi Arabia.
ANF Quetta intercepted a car at main Quetta Kuchlak Road, Quetta and recovered 186 Kg Hashish. A resident of Hafizabad was apprehended. Further investigations resulted in recovery of 373 Kg Hashish from a deserted house at Killi Gurgai District Qilla Abdullah.
ANF Peshawar carried out seven counter narcotics operations in KP and seized drugs to be consumed locally and abroad. It intercepted a truck in Dera Ismail Khan and recovered 42 Kg Hashish from improvised cavities in ceiling of the truck. A person on board resident of Karachi was arrested at the spot.
ANF Peshawar arrested a resident of Nowshera from Peshawar Airport and recovered 312 Grams Amphetamine which was concealed in 2x Halwa Tin Packs.
