Noted industrialist and husband of Chairperson of Dawn Group of Newspapers Muhammad Azam Saigol breathed his last on Wednesday while undergoing medical treatment in Boston, USA, according to a private TV channel. He leaves behind wife Ambar Haroon Saigal, two daughters and one son. Born on November 17, 1951, the Oxford educated Saigol held vast experience in handling big industrial concerns and corporations.
He held key executive and directorial positions at Kohinoor Industries Ltd, Saritow Spinning Mills, Pak Elektron Ltd and Azam Textile Mills. Saigol remained a member of the board of directors of Pakistan International Airlines from 2013 to 2016, and also led the national flag carrier as its chairman during 2016. The date and timings for the funeral arrangement will be announced later.
