The Senate of Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar has approved budget of the university for the fiscal year 2017-18. The 11th Senate meeting was chaired by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Chancellor of the University, Engr Iqbal Zafar Jhagra here on Friday. The meeting was attended by MPA Mahmood Jan, Vice Chancellor KMU Professor Dr Arshad Javed, Registrar KMU Professor Dr Muhammad Salim Gandapur, Secretary to Governor Munir Azam, Secretary Health Abid Majeed, Secretary Higher Education Syed Zafar Ali Shah, representative of chairman HEC Professor Dr Massom Yasinzai Rector International Islamic University, Islamabad, nominees of Secretary Finance and Secretary Establishment.
The meeting after threadbare discussion approved an estimated budget Rs 1.009,512,558 million for the fiscal year 2017-18. The Senate also gave approval to the annual report for academic year 2016-17. Following the detail deliberations, the Senate approved the recommendations made by Anomaly Committee and endorsed by the Syndicate for modification / amendments in the KMU statutes 2016.
It was also approved KMU Senate conduct of Business Rules 2017 and under section 9 (1) (iii) of the KMU constitution functions and power of authorities of the university statutes 2016, the Senate also approved the name of Engineer Habib Ali former Secretary Works & Services Department of KP as member F&PC from amongst the Senate members.
