Punjab minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education (SH&ME) Khawaja Salman Rafique has directed all the concerned departments to be ready for combating dengue in coming season for which all the measures should be taken in advance. He further directed that the concerned departments should submit a certificate regarding the availability/functioning of fogging machines, spray pumps & other essential articles used for dengue control. He stated this while presiding over the first meeting of 2018 of Cabinet Committee on Dengue at the committee room of Civil Secretariat here on Friday. Minister Primary & Secondary Health (P&SH) Khawaja Imran Nazir, Secretary Ali khan Jan, members Punjab Assembly Majid Zahoor, Peer Ashraf Rasool, Lubna Faisal, Special Secretary Health Dr Faisal Zahoor, DG Health Dr Akhter Rashid, CEO Lahore Dr Yadullah, Senior Officers of all the concerned departments, Special Branch, PITB & other institutions attended the meeting while the Deputy Commissioners & CEO Health of other districts participated in the meeting through video link.
Additional Director General Dengue Control Program Dr Shahnaz briefed the meeting regarding the present situation & preparation for controlling the dengue in coming season. She apprised the meeting of the new strategy & planning for overcoming the dengue in the province.
