Message from Central Coordinator, IREN

Inland Revenue Enforcement Network is FBR's befitting response to the threat posed by the ever expanding illicit cigarette and tobacco trade in Pakistan. 31st January, 2017 would always be remembered as the watershed in the history of FBR because then onwards, with every passing day, this agency could strengthen its writ and resolve against the menace of the sale of non tax paid cigarettes. This initiative which ropes in different IR field formations into a viable and reliable network against a deep rooted mafia. The volume of seizures, the scope of operations, the level of commitment and the ecstasy it generated are unprecedented. Today, IREN is a reality and decidedly one of FBR's most successful ventures launched so far. In the first year of operations, IREN has successfully reduced the influx of non-duty paid cigarettes into the market and also managed to broaden the tax net, We owe all this to almighty Allah and the teams across the country who made all this possible.
