Under the arrangements of the district health authority, an awareness walk was held to create the awareness among the citizens to avoid the disease of chicken pox by adopting precautionary and preventive measures.
The walk was led by State Minister for Textile Haji Muhammad Akram Ansari and Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani, ex MPA Kh Muhammad Islam, Distict Co-ordinator Health for Epidemic diseases Dr Bilal Ahmad, other officers and staff of health department and a large number of civil society representatives participated in the walk which started from District Council Chowk and culminated at Katchery Bazar Chowk after passing through the Khaleeq Qureshi road.
The participants of the walk were carrying banners and placards inscribed the symptoms of chicken pox disease and precautionary measures to avoid it. At the end, expressing his views, State Minister for Textile Haji Akram Ansari said that incumbent govt. was following comprehensive and solid policies to control the epidemic diseases and the citizens were being apprised of the precautionary measures through proper awareness campaign to save from the seasonal and epidemic diseases.
He said that chicken pox was very complicated disease and proper precautions should be adopted by the citizens to avoid from this harmful disease. He appreciated the efforts of local health department regarding raising the awareness among the general public regarding the epidemic diseases and measures taken for the medical treatment of the patients victim of chicken pox.
Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani informed that proper monitoring was being carried out of the local health department regarding exercise of measures of avoiding chicken pox disease.
He said that the close contacts of the patients were also being vaccinated in case of finding any chicken pox patient in any area of the district. He said that the chicken pox patients should immediately be shifted to the Govt. Hospitals in case of symptoms of this disease for early treatment. Dr Bilal gave details of symptoms of chicken pox disease and informed that special arrangements have been done at Govt. Hospitals to treat the chicken pox patients.
Later, State Minister for Textile Haji Muhammad Akram Ansari and Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani distributed the informative pamphlets among the general public pertaining to the symptoms and precautions of chicken pox disease.
