Continuing on its path for Corporate Reporting excellence, Kohinoor Maple Leaf Group (KMLG) has once again been recognized globally for adhering to best corporate reporting practices.
In an International event organized by South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), Kohinoor Textiles Mills Limited (KTML)'s Annual Report for the year 2016 has been declared 1st Runner up in Manufacturing Sector category. While the other group company Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited keeping the tradition alive bagged Merit Certificate in the Manufacturing Sector Category among South Asia region companies. KMLG has done exceptionally well to have won these prestigious SAFA Awards. These recognitions exemplify the admirable standards that KTML and MLCF continue to maintain in their financial accounting and for promoting better corporate governance. The event was hosted on 31st January in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and was attended by companies nominated from South Asian countries. SAFA is a platform for professional accountancy agencies to work towards the continued progression and distinction of the accountancy profession in the SAARC region. It is the apex body of professional accountancy bodies of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and an acknowledged accounting grouping of International Federation of Accountants. Winners are judged on their published annual reports, transparency, accountability and governance in financial reporting. Both the group companies, KTML and MLCF, were among the 3 Pakistani companies in the manufacturing sector who won at this prestigious competition.
As per KMLG's spokesperson "the group has always accepted corporate accountability for all the stakeholders as one of its primary strategic goal by promoting transparency and better accounting and auditing standards in the SAARC Region."
