Temperature slumped to minus 9 degree Celsius in Quetta, as the Met Office on Friday forecast a dry and cold weather for the most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. Mercury plunged to the freezing level of minus 6 degrees Celsius in Kalam, minus 4, each, in Kalat, Skardu and Parachinar, minus 3, each, in Bagrote, Astore and Gilgit, minus 2, each, in Gupis and Murree and minus 1, each, in Dalbandin, Rawalakot and Malamjabba.
It said that a light rain with snowfall over the hills of Malakand and Hazara Divisions, besides Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan is also expected over the period. "A shallow westerly trough is likely to approach northern parts of the country tonight," it said.
