The profit after tax (PAT) of Engro Fertilizers Limited has increased to Rs 10.136 billion in the year ended December 31, 2017 as compared to Rs 9.024 billion earned in the same period in 2016. The basic earning per share of the company increased to Rs 7.60 in the period under review against Rs 6.78 in the same period a year back.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on Thursday recommended final cash dividend for the year at Rs 3.00 per share, ie, 30 percent. This is in addition to interim dividends already paid at Rs 5.50 per share, ie, 55 percent.
According to the financial results, the company's net sales stood at Rs 63.010 billion in 2017 against Rs 69.518 billion in 2016 while the cost of sales decreased to Rs 42.538 billion against Rs 52.408 billion. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 14.995 billion in the year 2017 against Rs 13.375 billion earned in 2016.
