FCCI (Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry) Standing Committee on Regional Sports has congratulated nation and cricket board on the thumping victory of Pakistan in T20 series against New Zealand, said Syed Maratab Ali Shah Chairman Standing Committee.
Chairing a meeting of the standing committee here Thursday, he stressed the need to promote sports at the grass root level and said that practically sports has been eliminated from schools due to which we are not getting talented sportsmen for our national team who have expertise to successfully participate in international events and bring laurels to the nation and country. He said that Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad Usman Ghani should be requested to declare major sports of football, hockey in all schools mandatory in addition to regularly organizing inter school debates so that students could learn to express themselves in public.
The committee also demanded that a blue astro-turf should be laid in hockey stadium Madina Town in addition to organizing hockey event in it. Deputy Commissioner should also be requested to complete the under construction Kabaddi stadium in Kamal Pur.
