More rains and snowfall are expected in most parts of upcountry in the next 24 hours, as Chaklala received 57 mm of downpour on Monday, Met Office said. The heavy snowfall plunged Malamjabba by three feet deep in the last 24 hours which pulled down temperature to minus 4 degrees Celsius. "The westerly wave is still affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 12 -18 hours," it said.
Snowfall also covered Murree by one foot, Kalam and Parachinar by 0.5 foot, each, while Ziarat 3 and Rawalakot one inch. Temperature in other upcountry hilly areas including Skardu and Parachinar was minus 5, each and Murree, Ziarat and Astore minus 3, each, over the past. The Met said more isolated rain-thunderstorm and snowfall over the hills of Malakand, Hazara and Zhob Divisions, besides FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected. However, cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

In Punjab: Rawalpindi (Chaklala 57 mm, Shamsabad 50 mm), Islamabad (Zero Point 52 mm, Golra 47 mm), Mangla 36 mm, Jhelum 32 mm, Sialkot (Airport 31 mm, City 21 mm), Gujranwala 20 mm, Kamra 19 mm, M.B Din 18 mm, Murree 17 mm, Layyah 14 mm, Bhakkar 12 mm, Lahore (Punjab University) and Chakwal 10 mm, each and Gujrat 9 mm.
