Senior British diplomat Willaim Middleton met Hamza Shahbaz, central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Member National Assembly, here on Monday and discussed bilateral ties and present political situation in the country. On the occasion, Middleton, Political Counselor of British High Commission, said that bilateral ties (between the United Kingdom and Pakistan) are being strengthened day by day. He informed the PML-N leader about the different projects being launched with the cooperation of United Kingdom in Pakistan. He also informed about DEFID projects in education sector of Punjab, which has extended the facilities at large.
Hamza said the present government has completed a record number of development projects in important sectors, especially in education, health and energy sectors, that are now benefiting the masses. "Common man is satisfied with the performance of the Muslim League government and now it is important that general elections 2018 are held on time. Presently, Pakistan is facing a number of internal and external challenges," he added.
