ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance Asad Umar said that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government was taking concrete measures to provide loan and other facilities to farmer community.

Talking to a private news channel, the minister said that electricity and urea facility was being provided to farmer fraternity at affordable rates. Focus was being given to promote agri sector, he said. He added that promoting agriculture sector with modern technique was essential for saving time and stabilizing economy.

We are taking steps to enhance financial resources for putting the institutions on path of speedy progress, he added.

To a question about seeking loans from international agencies, he said this would be the last IMF programme of this government.

He was of the view that enhancing capability of the institutions besides utilizing resources would help strengthen the economy.
