An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday reserved its verdict in matter of Imran Ali alleged rapist and serial killers of minor girls including seven-year old Zainab Amin of Kasur. ATC judge Sajjad Ahmad concluded proceedings after the lawyers of both sides concluded their arguments at Kot Lakhpat jail.
The court completed recording of statement and cross-examination of 33 witnesses was recorded within just two days and court might announce its verdict on February 17 (tomorrow). The counsel of Imran Ali had withdrawn his power of attorney and said after confessional statement of Imran Ali, he did not want to plead his case.
Muhammad Sultan has been nominated as counsel of Imran Ali by the Prosecutor General Punjab.
The LHC had already ordered the trial court to conclude the case within seven days. The high-powered joint investigation team submitted its 175-page findings report before ATC and produced the suspect before it amid tight security. Zainab was abducted on January 04 last and her body was found on a heap of garbage near her house.
