Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah wondered on Friday that what message will go to world if they put the name of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on the Exit Control List (ECL). Talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly, Sanaullah said that Rao Anwar who killed 450 people in fake encounters was given relief by the Supreme Court but Nawaz Sharif was not allowed even to visit his ailing wife in London. "One should give respect to others and then expect the same for himself," the law minister added.
Rana said people love Nawaz Sharif and if he is removed from the office, it has increased his respect manifold in the eyes of his voters. "Due to the narrative of Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N won the by poll in Lodhran but on the other hand Imran Khan lost the poll due to his actions."
Earlier, the Punjab Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to recognize the services of noted human rights activist and former president Supreme Court Bar Association Asma Jahangir who died recently. The University of Sialkot Bill 2018 was also introduced during the session. The session started 45 minutes late under the chair of Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal.
Speaking on the point of order, opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed said the government should brief the House about the steps taken by the government to bring back former police official Abid Boxer who was allegedly involved in fake encounters. He also demanded that investigation should be conducted against those who were allegedly behind these fake encounters. Responding to a point of order, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the federation has issued red warrant of Abid Boxer on the request of Punjab government.
