According to Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal, the foreign minister is visiting Moscow on the invitation of his Russian counterpart from February 19-22.
During his stay in Moscow, the foreign minister will hold official talks with Russian foreign minister. The two sides will deliberate upon the entire spectrum of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest, he added. "The visit will provide opportunity to explore ways and means to further strengthen cooperation in political, economic, trade and investment, defense, education and cultural fields," he said.
Russia enjoys a special place in our foreign policy, Faisal said, adding that relations between the two countries have been growing steady in all fields. He said regular high-level exchanges between the two countries in last few years are a manifestation of mutual desire of both the sides for translating political good will into a substantive and multidimensional partnership.
He said the two countries are also celebrating 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. The two foreign ministers had earlier met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York in Sep 2017.
