National Assembly Special Committee on Child Abuse on Monday unanimously elected State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb as Chairwoman of Special Committee on Child Abuse. Marriyum Aurangzeb was elected unanimously after MNA Romina Khurshid Alam proposed her name for the slot which was then seconded by MNA Zahid Hamid, a former law minister of Shahid Khaqan administration.
The deputy secretary (co-ordination) congratulated the newly elected chairwoman on behalf of the NA Speaker, secretary and special secretary National Assembly Secretariat. He also assured them of full support of the secretariat for effective and efficient functioning of the committee under the supervision of NA speaker. The committee recommended that a detailed report may be obtained regarding the latest laws including delegated legislation and judgment on the child abuse for further proceedings during the next meeting of the committee.
