Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) has announced to organize a mega event, namely "International Buyers' Recognition Awards" ceremony on the sideline of Gulfood 2018 in Dubai. A large number of Pakistani companies associated with food business particularly rice industry are participating in the world's first major food and beverage trade event "Gulf Food" (Gulfood 2018) to get export orders.
Gulfood 2018 is the 23rd edition of the world's largest annual food and beverage trade show at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) started on Sunday and will continue till 22nd February 2018. Gulfood is one of the most popular and mega food festivals in which prominent companies of food exporting countries including Pakistan, India, Thailand, Vietnam and others are participating. In addition, thousands of buyers around the globe are also attending this annual exhibition. Spread across one million square feet of exhibition space, Gulfood is the world's first major food and beverage trade event of the year and is expected to draw over 90,000 food industry professionals and 120 exhibiting county pavilions.
All the arrangements for Pakistani pavilion have been jointly arranged by Ministry of Commerce and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). Rafique Suleiman Senior Vice Chairman Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), after attending the inauguration ceremony of Gulfood 2018 at Dubai, informed that Gulfood will be instrumental for Pakistani rice export sector and exporters are expecting a number of new orders. He informed that Muhammad Younus Dagha Federal Secretary Commerce and Inamullah Khan Secretary TDAP have taken personal interest and arranged extra ordinary arrangements for Pakistani pavilion and we expect more improvement in coming years also. He said that leading Pakistani rice exporting companies are participating and setup their stalls in Gulfood for aggressively marketing of their products. "A large numbers of rice buyers have also arrived in Gulfood and we are expecting good exports orders of Pakistani rice. We are also confident that rice export trade of Pakistan will get a good boast by this event", he added.
Suleiman informed that on the sideline of Gulfood; REAP is going to organize a mega event, namely "International Buyers' Recognition Awards" ceremony, in which awards will be distributed to leading buyers and exporters.
Ch. Samee Ullah Chairman REAP will host the event, while Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Minister for Scientific Research UAE and Pervez Malik Federal Commerce Minister of Pakistan will be the chief guests for this event. "In this event, REAP members have nominated their buyers for presenting awards and we are sure that this event will be very instrumental for strengthening the relationship between Pakistani rice exporters and their buyers. This event will also broadcast soft image of Pakistan in international community", he added. Further, prices of rice are as usual are depressed this year also, therefore all rice exporting countries are doing aggressive marketing of their rice in Gulfood. However, we are hopeful that in near future, Pakistani rice prices will become stable, he said.
Some of the prominent REAP members who are participating in this event are Ch. Muhammad Shafiq, Malik Muhammad Jahangir, Jawed Ali Ghori, Fuad Garib, Shahid Tawawala, Nadeem Polani, Teka Mal, Chela Ram Kewlani and others, he mentioned.
